Less than one month left!

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

Aunt Mindy, Uncle Ben, and Owen visited from North Carolina to celebrate the upcoming birth of Baby Brooker! Mindy organized a shower at Grandpa Brooker's home...a wonderful time was had by all!

Mindy stretched our brains with a "Baby Brooker Pool," Nursery Rhyme Challenge, and Baby Trivia...did you know that babies are born without kneecaps?
Educators unite...bring on the games!

Preparing to fill in the "Baby Brooker Pool..." boy or girl? When will he/she be born? Who will the winner be???

This is one lucky baby...not only is he/she stocked up on "the necessities," but he/she also has a wonderful book collection started!

A beautiful hand-made blanket from Linda Kessel will be the perfect addition to the baby's room.
Cousins Owen and Hannah meet for the first time. Owen was "out with the boys" during the afternoon; Hannah whispers details from the baby shower to him when he returns.
Baby blue and pink M&M's were artfully packaged in tiny tins. Guests' initials were created using the letter theme that was on the invitations.

Another perfect weekend...
Katie, Leah, Shannon, and Lora hosted a beautiful shower for Baby Brooker and Friends.

Godmother-to-be Leah and Grandma take a moment to catch up.
Elise and Grandma P. gear up for the games!
No one left hungry...
delicious muffins, quiche, stuffed french toast, potatoes, fresh fruit, cheesecake pie, and assorted juices comprised the "Baby Buffet."

Emily and Jessica...caught at the coffee station in the kitchen!

Kristy, Julie, and MT discuss their answers to the Alphabet Game that Leah had just led us through.
Michelle and Laura- two of my "Science Compadres."

Lora and Katie share stories of their own baby showers; Violet Downie was born last March, and Brady Krenzer will be turning one in August!

Shannon came all the way from Boston, Massachusetts, and Leah traveled in from Syracuse for the big day!

We are always so overwhelmed and appreciative of the thoughtfulness of family and friends...this little one will want for nothing when it arrives!
Like the concept of an "Easter Tree," these "Baby Branches" were adorned with tiny essentials...pacifiers, spoons, and a variety of little socks!
Mmmm...delicious cupcakes for dessert!

The favor table was adorned with a framed copy of the homemade invitation (now in Baby Brooker's room), and a beautiful vase of flowers. Each person took home a collection of floral magnets mounted on a homemade card.
